Please read before booking

Thank you for choosing me to capture your time in Edinburgh. These policies are here to keep everything clear and stress-free, so there are no surprises.

By paying the booking deposit, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms below.

GENERAL BOOKING TERMS

Booking & Deposit

• A £100 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your date and current pricing.
• The deposit is applied toward your total balance.
• The remaining balance is due on the day of your photo walk, unless agreed otherwise.
• If the deposit is not paid by the invoice deadline, the date may be released to another client.

Payment Methods

Payment can be made by:

• bank transfer

• Credit Card

Cancellations & Rescheduling

I understand that life happens.

• If you need to reschedule, please let me know as soon as possible.
• I will offer the same courtesy if I need to reschedule due to illness or unexpected events.
• All sales are final due to the custom nature of photography.

Weather

We are in Scotland, and the weather can change quickly. Sessions are not cancelled due to weather forecasts earlier than 2 hours before the start time. If conditions become unsafe (heavy rain, strong winds), we will reschedule or adjust plans. Light rain, wind, or clouds are normal and often part of the experience.

PHOTO WALK EXPERIENCE DETAILS

What’s Included

• All experiences include edited digital images only.
• RAW or unedited files are not available.
• I select and edit the best images from the walk.
• Editing time is 1–2 weeks (up to 3 weeks in busy periods).

Editing Style

• Images are delivered fully edited in my style.
• Re-editing, filters, or altering the images is not allowed (cropping for printing is fine).

Online Gallery

• Your private gallery will be available within 1-2 weeks.
• Galleries stay online for 4 weeks.
• Please download and back up your files — I store galleries for 6 months only.

TIME, LOCATIONS & TRAVEL

Session Length

• Additional time can be added at £100 per hour, subject to availability.

Locations

• One location is included.
• A second nearby location (within 10 minutes’ drive) can be added for £100.
• Transport between locations is not included unless stated.

Travel Fee

• Locations beyond 15 miles from EH14 incur a £0.50 per mile travel fee.

Weekends & Rush Bookings

• Weekend photo walks are available for an additional £100.
• Bookings made within 42 hours include a £200 rush fee, with full payment required before the walk.

IMAGE USE & PRIVACY

Use of Photos

• I may share selected images on my website, blog, or social media.
• You will always see your gallery first, and no images will be shared for at least 2 weeks after delivery.
• If you ever prefer images not to be shared, please let me know.

Behind-the-Scenes Content

• I may occasionally capture behind-the-scenes photos or short videos.
• These are never shared without care and will always respect your privacy.

COPYRIGHT & PRINT USE

• All images remain copyright of Dorota Markowska Photography.
• Digital files include a personal print release.
• Images may not be used for commercial purposes without written permission.

MAILING LIST

By booking, you will be added to my email list.

• You can unsubscribe at any time.
• Emails are occasional and relevant only.

LIABILITY & PERSONAL BELONGINGS

• You are responsible for your own belongings during the photo walk.
• I am not responsible for lost or damaged items such as jackets, bags, or equipment.
• Participation is at your own risk.

ADDITIONAL TERMS FOR Arthur’s Seat PHOTO WALK

This experience involves walking outdoors for 1–2 hours, sometimes on uneven ground and in changing weather.

Physical Fitness & Safety

• You confirm that you are physically able to take part.
• Routes may include hills, steps, muddy paths, or uneven terrain.

What to Wear

• Please wear sturdy footwear with a good grip.
• Bring warm layers, waterproofs, and anything you may need to stay comfortable.
• I do not provide clothing, boots, food, or refreshments.

Joining at Your Own Risk

• Outdoor walking carries natural risks.
• I am not responsible for slips, falls, injuries, cold exposure, bites, or discomfort.
• You take part at your own responsibility and for any guests you bring.

Weather & Safety Decisions

• If weather conditions are unsafe, I will adjust the route or reschedule.
• The decision is always made with safety first.

Final Note

These terms are here to protect both of us and ensure a relaxed, enjoyable experience.
