Reasons why you should exist in photographs
why you should consider To Have A Family Photoshoot
We are looking at our children today. Our sweet babies. Beautiful people who grow and change so fast. We grab the camera, capturing every moment of their lives. Every smile and frown. Every important moment. However, in ten, twenty or thirty years, our children will grow up and reach for family albums in search of memories.
They will want to see how we lived as a family, what the young mum looked like, and what the daddy looked like when he still had hair 😉 But what will they see instead?
They will see a lot of their photos. Dozens, hundreds of shots of themself. Yes, beautiful, but ...
OUR FIRST PHOTOS TOGETHER
Photos of my daughters and me together.I CAN'T IMAGINE NOT HAVING THEM.
The most common excuses
What excuse do we have today for not being in front of the camera with our children?
- I look bad.
- I'm making dinner.
- I didn't do my hair or makeup.
- I look too fat or too skinny.
- I am not photogenic.
Is this what you tell our children when they ask for old family photos?
Why should you like being in front of the camera?
We are changing. We are getting older. Our appearance changes, and it is lovely to look at the photos of our parents and grandparents from the old days when they were still young and see their features in ourselves. It is beautiful to see the emotions we shared and the feelings loved ones gave us. Photos are priceless souvenirs; let's not take them away from our children.
Once in a while, once a month, or a few times a year, we can ask someone to take a picture of us together. Slow down. Notice how the days go by and capture the moment, here and now.
Family selfie is always a good idea 😉
3 REASONS TO DO MOMMY AND ME PHOTOGRAPHY
1. YOUR CHILDREN WILL WANT PICTURES OF YOU
2. YOU ARE USUALLY THE ONE BEHIND THE CAMERA
3. THERE IS NOTHING MORE PRECIOUS THAN THE MOMMY AND ME PHOTO
Some days more the others, I appreciate all those special memories we have created. All the smiles and hugs. All the photos my husband took of me (I forced him to take most of them😂) and the ones I took with the self-timer or selfie stick are precious to me. What I know for sure is that my children already love going back to the past. My children remember many events only from pictures. Looking at our family albums, they look at their photos and laugh at how jagged they were, but they also look at me and remember our trips together and family events.
Last tip? Get them printed!! Technology is not always reliable, and those memories are not replaceable. So always back up your photos AND print your favourites, so you actually get to look at them.
