Secret Proposal on Arthur’s Seat, Edinburgh

A Morning He Asked and She Said Yes

It started with a message from Tanner.

He was coming to Edinburgh from the United States with his girlfriend. But this trip had a bigger plan. He wanted to propose to Nicole, and he chose Arthur’s Seat.

We planned everything together in advance. Where it could happen. How I would recognise them. How to stay hidden so the moment would stay completely natural for her.

On the day, I walked up earlier and waited halfway, watching from a distance and trying not to be seen too soon.

Then I spotted them.

There is always a moment when you just know. The way they walk together, the way they stay close. I knew straight away it was them.

They stopped. Tanner reached into his pocket, took out the ring, and went down on one knee. He asked the question.

And she said yes.

She jumped into him, holding him tight, smiling, laughing, completely in the moment. It was full of energy and emotion. The wind, the space, the city below, everything around them became part of it.

Nothing was staged. Nothing was controlled. It was just real.

After that, everything felt relaxed. The question had been asked, she said yes, and there was nothing else to think about. We walked together, took photos, and let them enjoy what had just happened without rushing anything.

I felt very lucky to be there, standing just close enough to witness it without taking anything away from them.

It was a beautiful moment to be part of, and one I will remember for a long time.
