My Top Beach photoshoot locations | Edinburgh & Surroundings
Whether you're looking to come to Edinburgh for vacations or are looking for a place to have your romantic engagement, couple photos taken, or relaxed family photo session , I've compiled a list of some of my favourite beach places to shoot in Edinburgh and surroundings. This is definitely not the full list, because, I'll be honest, I haven't yet managed to shoot EVERYWHERE I want to. But I've been to many of them, and I can only urge you to visit them all... they are some of the most beautiful places I've ever seen.

Cramond Beach,
2 Kirk Cramond, Cramond, Edinburgh EH4 6HZ
The beach at Cramond is vast, and can change dramatically as the tide comes and goes. At certain times of the day, you can walk across the kilometre-long causeway to the mysterious Cramond Island, but just remember to check the tide times first. The village may be small but it's certainly romantic and make a beautiful background to your photos .
There is a public toilet and free parking .
Portobello Beach,
1 Promenade, Portobello, Edinburgh EH15 2DX
Portobello is a popular sandy beach in the Edinburgh suburb by the same name, slightly less than 2 miles east of the city centre, offering views across to the north side of the Firth of Forth and out towards Inchkeith Island.
With over two kilometres of golden sands, a lengthy promenade draws in huge crowds on a sunny day.
Tyninghame Beach*
Definitely my favourite place on earth. It is absolutely beautiful, never crowded. Set a little way from the nearest parking it is a fair walk to the beach. Walk to the beach through the old pine forests give us a lot of variety in the background of a beautiful rural, forest and sandy beach.
This long golden beach is often cited as one of the finest in the South of Scotland. A wild expanse of golden sand backed by dunes the beach here is often deserted except for during the summer months.

Gullane Beach*
Magnificent sandy beach with excellent views out onto the Firth of Forth. Perfect for maternity or family photo sessions. Popular family beach ideal for sunbathing, walking, kite flying, picnics and windsurfing and canoeing.
